himal and more himal - from a distance and up close

this is a blog post after a long long time.
probably after dada's illness and then demise last year.
yesterday, 19th november 2017, was very very clear .. and  a great day for himal watching.  and that's what we did from the hills of kavre, east of kathmandu valley.  all pictures taken from my nikon coolpix digital camera.. that has a good zoom too.   no fancy lens.. thus could capture the mountain  pretty up close too.

it's rare seeing all the way to annapurna from the hills eats of kathmandu. but it was a clear day.. and above the haze line over kathmandu valley there was the annapurna range. also seen manaslu, himalchuli and then the ganesh himal range
early morning mist made it difficult to get the himals to the east.. but the layers of hills were awesome
palaans trees were in bloom all over.. looking like cherry blossoms
.. looking like this in close up.. attracting insects ...
the valleys below still fogged up
the jugal himal range with mustard blooms in and out of shade
and then later.. in full sunshine
the same range framed by lapsi and bamboo branches
gangchhempo, shishapangma, dorje lakpa to phurbi ghyachu above homes and cornstalk stack
a bit closer from dorje lakpa to shishapangma (an 8K m mountain in tibet)
langtang in the distance
... and behind the grass...
and now the peaks a bit closer..
jagged dorje lakpa and pemthang karpo ri
 gauri shankar.. forever together..
 phurbi ghyachu
dark and sinister chhoba bhamare
 annapurna range with machhapuchhre too
beautiful  himalchuli with a bit of manaslu
 a slice of phurbi ghyachu
and now a bit closer
