most of the pix are from this evening.. but have slipped in two more from last week. today the first day of the banda following the maoists' call, i went up to the kausi and captured a glimpse of the ranke julus.. and the ghantaghar silhouetted against the setting sun...
and talking about ghantaghar.. got these images of the whitewash that dharahara and ghantaghar were/are getting.. with bamboo scaffolding and painters without any protective gear whatsoever...

'twas evening, the bangla biman (they call it something different these days, i think)dc 10 takes off. the sky was not banda today!
and just around then.. the ranke julus thundered down bagh bazar with torches, flags, wolf whistles and jindabaad and murdabaads! there was just this little space from where i could see it the julus.. so built up bagh bazar has become.
the sun was dipping into the cloud behind ghantaghar.... watch as it slowly dips behind the swayambhu hills.. the birds going home to roost
