himal ho ki thatta ho - posted on 2 novermber 2008

1 november. we just decided to go to kot

..as the afternoon wore on and the breeze picked up, the valley became clearer and the himalaya also started shedding their cloud cover...

... clouds provided plenty of romantic light and shade possibilities...

the pink twilight panorama of the hills to the south-west of the valley...

crescent moon tagged by venus.. on their way to the horizon...

what a luxury.. checking email in the terrace as the lights flicker in the valley below...

...next morning.. started out with a hazy eastern horizon...

... misty lubhu...

and wispy multi-layered hills...

.. then as the eastern sky lights up a bit more...

.. himalchuli catches the morning light..

...as does ganesh himal...

...and ganchhempo..

... the light gets lighter...

... and soon the fog starts lifting from the valley floor too... first sunakothi...

... and then baandey gaon too..

as the morning wore on.. the himal started sparkling like silver... langtang in all her glory

and himalchuli...

... and ganesh himal...

... from langtang to jugal himal...

ganesh himal

even annapurna visible, even though slightly hazy...

a stitched on panorama..

stretching on from annapurna in the west to cho oyu in the east..

a dewy web amidst fern...

...then of course it was time to come down from paradise.. on the other side of the kot hills.. in the bistachhaap valley... a tapestry of harvest-time  colours
