… on my way to achham, i flew in to nepalgunj this morning.. and then later in the day, drove down to surkhet...
these are images from the plane (across the aisle to the himal) and looking though bad lighting to the mountains to the south… or from the car as we were driving up north from nepalgunj to surkhet

these rows of ridges on the south western rim of the kathmandu valley...
.. mountains near the kulekhani lake...
and then across the aisle and through the window on the other side.. the dark and handsome machhapuchhre...
... and a closer look at the machha ko puchhar
... some more annapurna cousins...
a dolpo cousin... ummmm.. kanjiroba perhaps??
simal (kapok cotton) trees beginning to bloom near the babai river bank...
the bridge over the river babai
the sandwiched layers of upthrust earth ...
it was getting dusky by the time we were nearing our destination...
.. but we had one more major river to cross.. the bheri in all its emerald green splendour ... (our driver told us that in the future this river bed will be dry as they are planning to divert the waters of the bheri to the babai through a tunnel for irrigation purposes)..
... looking easteards.. along the bheri... fishermen in a raft too...
... such serenity and beauty... heaven on earth...
