view from nagarkot - posted on 6 september 2009

we'd gone to nagarkot for a meeting. ..the shots of the dark ready-to-rain clouds were from friday afternoon and the others were from saturday morning.. images of kathmandu valley in the early morning light

sankhu valley barely visible 'neath the dark band of clouds

the next morning.. the clouds over panchkhal valley already have a pinkish hue

this was a couple of seconds before the sun peeped in from behind the eastern Himalaya

high clouds over kathmandu valley were also reflecting the golden pink tint

and then the sun broke through

the first rays of sunlight hit the clouds/fog over Kathmandu

the central himalaya to the north are blue and cold under a cloud cover

more and more sunlight brightens up the valley

changu narayan hill gets bathed in sunlight

as do the hills over sankhu

the patchwork of bright green velvety paddy fields as we head down to the valley on saturday evening

looking back at nagarkot, now awash with the golden glow of the evening sun
