how bout you you you
you can go too too too
i wen to the joo joo joo
i actually went to the zoo today accompanying baba with the team from the east west alumni association and a bunch of kids from bal bhojan. i know that most of you, especially those living away from nepal, and even those within the valley have not visited the 'joo' in quite a while, and are quite nostalgic about the sights, and more so, the smell our only zoo. so have put up the pictures for your benefit... actually the zoo's such an improvement from when i was there quite quite quite a while ago.. it does not smell that much, there's a little fun park for the kids too.
of course the animals are still bichara. but then, things have improved.. the main thing... it is a polythene bag-free zone!
be kind to the animals.. no bullying
the kapoor trees surrounding the pond have grown and spread their shade
there's elephant joo safari
and paddle boat rides too.. but notice now low the water level has now gone.. just like other ponds in the valley
the cages are better too. old ones give way to new... this is where the old tiger cage used to be, remember the twin enclosures? we could hear the tigers roar at night even from sri durbar
the barasinghey
one tiger escaping the midday heat(mid-30s c)...
.. the other prowling about in the same path ...over and over... in a neighbouring enclosure
some consolation for my own backside, or is mine worse???
the lonely hundaar
chimps is a tall cage
and personification of sloth...
...and relaxation
there was a lonely white neck saaras
and not so lonely pelicans too
several thulo pinjara ka sooga
and a lonely fowl
and then there were birds roaming freely
.. as well as these other species of birds!
do visit.. there are a lot more attractions that i have not featured in here...!
please go to the joo joo joo....
