once more here are images of the view from kot... ???? .... becoz it's different every time!!!
baba and i reached kot past sunset on saturday evening... knew frustratingly, seeing ganesh himal awash in ruddy rays in the rear view mirror while driving south from the city, that it was a great sunset.. तर के गर्ने?? by the time we reached up, it was already dark, and there was a lot of mist and haze in the air.. blurring the lights of the valley too.
this morning too it started off very misty, cloudy and blurry.. but then as the morning wore on.. the 'kot' show began... featuring mountains, clouds, haze and a bird...
looking west towards chandagiri... the landscape was all grey...
a promise of blue skies to come...
some golden lining beyond the himalaya to the east...
the valley was covered with a mucky layer of hizt (mist + haze)
langtang merged with the grayish sky
... and the same with gangchhempo...
a little bit of light on the ganesh himal range as it struggles to get above the hizt...
the morning wears on...
... and on...
...and the clouds are chased away bit by bit...
and blue skies herald a bright and sunshiny day...
the gray turns to blue... and ganesh himal has managed to shrug off the clouds and hizt...
in more detail...
the same is the case with langtang...
gangchhempo...
and their jugal cousins...
himalchuli seems to be waking up behind nagarjun
the morning becomes even brighter...
and bluer...
.. the hizt is still there.. but the air above it is clear...
even annapurna 2 makes an appearance...
the valley floor also a bit visitbe now...
लप्सीलो लाङटाङ
away from the mountains here is a moth that aerospace engineers should be paying close attention too.. what the b-2 bomber needs, it seems, is a tail like this one!
and this परेबा (yes, ze bird)...
does indeed have a bird's eye view of the kathmandu खाल्डो!
some more of langtang.. all white...
and then dappled with cloud shadow...
and some closeups of the jugal himal cousins...
notice the भुसुना plane?
was indeed hard to leave such a view and head down to the city... by the time we reached bandeygaun.. ganesh himal was nearly swallowed by the hizt...
and near harisiddhi.. the mountains were but a hazy lump in the distance...
