gokarna greens - posted on 26 november 2010

just a couple of minutes' drive from the noise and dust of jorpati.. gokarna is indeed a quiet and verdant relief to tired ears and eyes!!! i was there for work for two days.. and did not venture much beyond the periphery of the resort, into the 'real' jungle... even then, a treat for the soul... the greenery, including that of the 18 hole golf course... with the nyauli cries and parrot squawks... and oh yes, the rampage of monkeys on the roof!!!

imagine a giant version of such a khari tree used to be in the middle of tundikhel... the symbol of power chopped down in the name of democracy...

the light green leaves of the khari ko rookh

cherry's cousin, paiyun , in bloom

huge trees... such a pleasant sight...

early morning preparations in the golfing greens

mysterious dewey footprints around the 9th hole!

banar rajya

now a little bit of education...

some trees have gone bare for the winter.. others remain green...

barky detail

where the borderlands has set up the high ropes.. this is where we had our team building exercise in the midst of rain and leeches a couple of months ago!!!

simal (kapok) ready to burst aflame with ruddy blooms.. its branches reaching for the sky!!!
